Create a new Filter
How to Create a new Konstru Filter
Where to find Filter Menu?
Creating your own Konstru Filter is done from the 'Filters' interface. You can find this by opening a model and navigating to the 'Other Settings' button shown below:

Create a New Filter
Once you've navigated to the Filter Menu, you can create a new Filter via the following button:

There are four options to note when creating a new filter:

From /To: Define which type of translation you wish this filter to apply to.
Add a Name and Description to the Filter. As it's likely you will create many custom Filters, it's wise to be as descriptive as possible in both these fields.
Template - There are many options available for what to filter, which means many boxes to check. If you'd like to start your filter using an recommended filter as a template you can choose to do so here. You are also able to select a 'empty' filter, which will prevent all objects from translation, or a 'full' filter, which will allow all objects and arbitrates available to Konstru.
Make Default - By checking this box you will enforce this Filter to be used each time you make a translations between the platforms define in step 1. This Filter will now be displayed as shown below in the 'Up/Down' user interface, where you're checking the box has pre-populated this field. Note you are able to change the Filter being used at any point.

Clone Recommended
If you're happy with an existing Filter, but want to make a few changes, Konstru gives you the ability to 'Clone' such a filter, be it recommended or custom. The cloning process will copy all the object and attribute settings of the filter, and allow you to alter any of the four 'Create Filter' options discussed above.

Once you've cloned a filter, you are able to edit all the listed objects. Below is the Recommended Filter from Upload fro ETABS. You will notice some objects are 'Ignored' by default; this is most likely due to the particular platform not supporting that object type.

Users can click on the name of each object type and are given the option to either 'Ignore this element type' entirely, or to ignore some important 'Properties' associated with the object type, or to ignore specific 'Attributes' of the object.
Filter Konstru Properties
There "Properties" are generally considered necessary to create a viable object in the various modeling platforms Konstru links to. Where one of these properties is missing from a upload or download, Konstru will add a default value to ensure object translation. The user will be notified of this change during the profile mapping interface.
