Konstru Recommended Filters

Description of the rationale behind Recommended Filters

Konstru includes a 'Recommended Filter' for every typical Konstru translation. These recommended filters are the result of our team's experience with model translation, and an understanding of the object and attribute requirements of each individual platform model. The recommended Filters are designed to give first time Konstru users the best possible translation of their model with the minimal amount effort upfront.

When using Konstru for the first time, you will find the Recommended Filters as part of your Organizations Settings. When we create out own Filter in next section we will use the same menu.

Filter Setting and Konstru Filters

As mentioned, there is a recommended filter for each and every possible Konstru translation. These recommendations as designed as a guide for the creation of your own filters, and as such, you are able to 'Clone' as existing recommended filter at any point. When using Konstru for the first time, the specified translation (i.e. from Revit to Konstru) will dictate which recommended Filter is applied due to the fact that the recommended filter is set as 'Default' for any first time translation. Creation of your own filter based on a cloned original is addressed in the next section.

Much of the default Filter settings are tied to platform specific limitations, such as a certain object type not able to be created automatically by Konstru. An excellent example of this is the Default download filter from Konstru to SAP.

The Konstru > SAP - Recommended Filter prevents any Grids, Level's or Opening's from being created in SAP. This is due to the fact that these object types cannot be created via API routes, thus Konstru will never be able to create these objects on download to SAP.

For the most part, such API limited Filters tend to be part of model 'downloads'. Konstru itself has no such API limitations, thus model uploads to Konstru will generally try to capture as much of the BIM model as it has been directed to do so by the user (either via active selection....or Groups...or Filters) .
