One Way in Detail
From before you upload, to the finishing touches.

1. Pre Upload
There are two factors to be aware of before you translate for the first time. The first is how much of the model do you wish to translate, achieved by Selection or Groups. Depending on the long term goal of your Konstru model, you may want to upload the full model, or only a single level's steel framing.
Staged and Partial ModelsThe next and probably most critical factor is the state of your model's connectivity. The 'connectivity' referred to here is most often the way that beams and column frame into each other, or how a thick concrete column connects to an adjacent wall.
2. Upload Review
The Review stage allows users to query the changes that are taking place based on the current upload. Critically, they are the point at which users can apply a Filter to their upload, which provides the most control over the model translation, down to the attribute level.

The primary purpose of the web interface it to provide users a lightweight 3D viewer for their database models that does not require a software licence. As a viewer, you are able to

5. Mapping
As discussed in the previous section, the primary need for mapping stems from the lack of coordination and potential variability of Material and Profile libraries that come attached to the modeling software. What one model calls 'Cast in Place; Concrete' another calls '4000psi'...where one modeler has named a 'WF12x49' it is known as a '12X49wf' is the modeling platform she is translating into. To help alleviate this potentially problematic aspect of interoperability comes the Konstru Mapping dialog.
It allows users to use some good ol' human brain power to specify matches between the material and profile naming which is specific to the region of the world you're working in and the software library you have available.
With the Mapping complete....you're done! Konstru will complete the translation and report on any issues or significant changes.
